The Final Farewell match, 26th June 2021

FALCONS BOW OUT

After 21 years as an upstanding and respected Worcester & District Sunday league club, Express Falcons FC have played their final ever competitive match, a 0-0 draw with The Bell at Victoria Park.

It brings to an end 21 seasons of Worcester League football for the Falcons, involving over 150 players in nearly 500 matches. Founded by brothers Jon and Will Hale, Falcons played their first fixture away to St Johns Sports in September 2000.

The club may have seen out their final fixtures, but the legacy of friendships and great memories will always live on.

The club would like to thank everyone who has contributed to, sponsored, supported, played for and managed the club for their efforts for The Falcons over 21 wonderful years.

About us, History & Honours

EXPRESS FALCONS FC were established in the year 2000; a new Sunday League club formed from a team playing in the Nunnery Wood summer league. They played their final ever competitive draw on 9th May 2021, a 0-0 draw against The Bell.

The actual origin was a small group of friends, who started playing in a 5 a side league in Evesham on Sunday evenings.

After 2 years the team progressed to the Nunnery Wood 10-a-side Summer League, and then on to the fully-fledged Worcester & District Sunday League (Division 4) where they made their bow in September 2000 with a 0-5 reverse at St Johns Sports.

This begun their long loyalty to the Worcester League and in their 20+ year history ‘The Falcons’ steadily rose through the divisions to the heights of the Sunday Premier Division, winning promotions along the way. The Falcons also appeared in the 2014-15 Southam Trophy final, losing to Perrywood Res and the 2015-16 Katherine Rayer Cup Final, losing to Malvern Radar.

In 2017-18 the Falcons won the Bernarad Finegan Cup at Malvern Town's ground.

Despite the club's 20th anniversary events being postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, The Falcons continued to go from strength to strength with over 150 players having played for the club.

The club prided itself on keeping in touch with old players and have several events were lined up in 2021 to celebrate the club's history, before the global pandemic struck.

The Falcons competed in the Sunday Premier division in the 2020-21 season.

On 28th April 2021, it was announced by the Club Committee, the club would fold at the end of the 2020-21 season after 21 years of Worcester League football. The final game would take place on Sunday 9th May 2021.

There will be a Falcons Farewell party, to be announced for a date in the summer.
